Steve Lomas, Managing Director, Private Sector Finance

Steve has been involved in financing global infrastructure projects for over 25 years both in the private and public sectors. After spending time at Natwest, RBS and Ambac closing infrastructure deals globally, Steve joined HM Treasury and helped establish the Infrastructure Finance Unit before supporting the set-up of the Green Investment Bank.

The team established the £40 billion UK Guarantees Scheme (UKGS) which issued over £4 billion of guarantees and made £1.4 billion of fund investments. Steve played a leading role in the set up and launch of the UK Infrastructure Bank, and was one of the first to join the bank, as Co-Head of the Banking Team during the first year of operations.
