Our local government knowledge service

Our local government knowledge service

We aim to support local authorities to develop investment ready projects and have created the knowledge service to provide information and guidance.

Local authorities face common challenges when seeking to develop and deliver projects that support clean energy and local growth ambitions. We recognise that support for commercial project development and securing finance is in high demand across the sector. The local government knowledge service has been established to provide tools to help overcome these barriers.

The service is designed to be flexible, to listen to the views of local government, and to respond with appropriate support.

Initially, the knowledge service will deliver one-to-one surgeries on project development challenges, and webinars to allow a deeper dive into specific subjects with a range of local government stakeholders.

Over time, we intend to work closely with the sector to develop short how-to guides, tools and further digital content.

If you would like to share headline details of your project with us to explore how the knowledge service may be able to assist, please email the team.

The case studies below show how the knowledge service has supported local government and highlight how our capabilities can help progress projects.

Advising Brighton & Hove City Council on decarbonisation pathways

Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) is committed to reducing emissions as far as possible by 2030. The council has made significant progress in decarbonising its own estate but is now seeking to deliver larger infrastructure projects and enable the wider city’s net zero transition.
