Strategy and impact
Our mission is to invest in capital-intensive infrastructure, supply chains and businesses across the UK, driving more than £100 billion of finance to unlock long-term economic growth and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
We are a policy bank charged with deploying capital at scale. Our investments must follow three investment principles: support the government’s growth and clean energy missions, be intended to deliver a positive financial return for the Exchequer, and be expected to crowd in significant private capital over time.
It is essential that we have a positive impact, that we are additional, and that we are mindful of how we can contribute to wider benefits to society, the environment, and the world around us.
